Superb II vcds ecu mileage

Hello everyone

I'm in the market for a superb II. I quite fancy one that I drove earlier this week. It's a 1.9 105hp from 2010. I have vcds 12.12 but if won't read the ecu mileage correctly. It returns 8 km / 4 miles.

I was always led to believe ALL 1.9 cars can be read by vcds.. not sure why this particular car won't comply.

My hunch is it is a late 2010 model and may not have either an edc15 or edc16 ecu, but maybe a edc16+ or edc17 and that either of these variants cannot be read by vcds?

Or that it is a Siemens ecu and not bosch and therefore not readable..

Clutching at straw really. Could anyone she'd any light on it for me?

I should have done a save when I plugged it in and use the vag number to get ecu model number.. but I didn't!

It's a lovely car but I'd really want to be able to verify the mileage before taking it any further.

That's the reason I'm limiting my search to 1.9. If vcds can't verify a 1.9 superbs then it opens up 2.0 and more hp. Vroom Vroom!

Today I installed a reversing camera into my 2015 Superb Outdoor wagon and used tutorials here from all those before me.... thanks Briskodians for a long day. I found I had to use parts of most guides as all our cars are quite different underneath.

I had some frustrating moments and none more so that what confronts me now. I should say that installation was successful and reverse camera works as expected.

However......

Since the install I have been troubleshooting errors... namely...

1/ License plate lights don't work now and throw a check bulb warning on dash

2/ TPM error on dash

3/ Steering Angle Sensor error and ESC error on dash

I've checked fuse at position 4 (courtesy of owners manual) and it's ok - multimeter test confirms

Checked bulbs and they are ok.

Hooked up to VCDS ran an Autoscan and cleared relevant fault codes. Started her up and errors showed up.....did this a few times and it seems I am just going around in circles....

I suspect the connection to our diversity aerial is a bit wonky and causing us some issues in our Fabia.

Can I disable it or tell the Columbus to use one only?

Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to what may be a very random and strange question -- and I can't find the answer anywhere.

2012 Octavia 2 FL TSI DSG with PQ35 BCM -- is there any way of setting the car up so that the hazard lights come on automatically when in reverse gear? it's a requirement at work that ANY vehicle reversing at work, and that includes when parking up or leaving a parking spot, has hazard lights on, and it would be good to configure the car to do this. I know that in certain countries in Europe this is a legal requirement too, so there must be a setting to program somewhere?

Bit of help please - I have a 2007 Roomster Scout with detachable Prof Svar towbar, 13 pin electrics, and parking sensors fitted at the factory.

When a trailer is connected all lights work perfectly BUT I don't get any other indication a trailer is fitted.

Parking sensors emit a long sound (faulty), and nothing appears on the screen of my Amundsen unit.

Can someone tell me what SHOULD happen so I can start to track down the fault?

Hi everyone,

I've recently picked up a Mk1 Fabia VRS with a GTB 2260 (I think!). Car is running approx 250bhp. TBH its not quite how I like it - never thought I would say that - always more power the better! But thing is I have a BMW running 350BHP and what I like is that the power is there if I want it, but if I want I can run around very 'docile'.

Obviously I don't expect this from the Fabia, but my thinking is if I run a smaller (PD150?) turbo I'm thinking the car will be more driveable on normal roads. (at least my previous leon used to be!)

I don't want to plough loads of money in (whoever does!) as this is supposed to be just a little toy for me to look after - so I suppose I'm looking to swap my turbo (which has been recently rebuilt) for a PD150 unit one. A comfortable 200bhp would be fine. I'm thinking manifolds would be the only other item needing to go with the turbo?

Whats peoples thoughts? Would anyone be interested in a swap - would need to be for a young turbo or one recently rebuilt. Im not sure how the logistics would work at this point - just wandering if anyone would be interested?

This is after I have someone look at the Kw3 coilovers - I want more comfort!

Hey,

I'm after making some changes to my headlamp and DRL settings and one thing that's left to do that's annoying me is disabling the H15 Bulb/Sidelight when on DIPPED beam.

I'd like to keep it on when on Sidelight/Parking mode but when I click over to Dipped beam I'd like the sidelight to turn off.(If I add a whiter bulb the H15 will just wash a yellow halogen into it so may as well turn it off)

I'm using an OBDEleven on a MK3 2015 Octavia.

Presently I have my Foglights on 50% as my DRLs instead of the H15 bulb.

Any advice as I've sat there going back and forth with settings and I can get the sidelight to be off permanently for both settings but not for just dipped beam.

Windows Opening/Closing with Remote Fob.

On my Octavia 2015 model year the windows can be opened and closed by pressing and holding the Lock or Unlock button on the remote control key fob. Does anyone know if an adaptation can be made so that the windows will close with a single press of the Lock button, and if so how do you do it? I have the full version of VCDS, and would be grateful if anyone knows.

Towbar light together with rear lights on DRLs

I have enabled the rear lights with DRLs on my Octavia III and it works just fine.
I would like to permanently enable the towbar (trailer/caravan) lights too - does anyone know how to do this? I have search the forum several times without any luck..

Turbo back exhaust

I'm going to get an exhaust system for the Octavia. I've decided to go for a turbo back system with a sports cat from a place in Leeds that has a good reputation (Tony Banks).

One thing I'm not sure about is the need for a remap at the same time? I am going to get a custom map from RS Tuning in Leeds once I've saved up again but this may be a few months after the exhaust has been fitted.

Can anyone see a problem with running the car for a while with the new exhaust fitted until I get the funds together for the remap?

I'll start by saying I know very little about VCDS, so please forgive my ignorance!
My car, after having it's inlet manifold and inlet valves cleaned is presenting me with two error codes (used my Carista app)
P3193 and P1098, I believe my first port of call would be to set the module to its Basic Settings? My local indie garage has advised me he has done this, but the codes keep re appearing.
His device is a Snap-on reader/ modifyer however and I don't believe this will necessarily do the same things as VCDS. I would like to know your thoughts folks, do you think this would be sufficient?
Also, does anyone know of anywhere/ anyone in South Wales that could carry out this task?

Octy 3 vRS - DRLs illuminate with unlock?

Is it possible using VCDS to get the DRLs to illuminate on unlocking the vehicle?

I understand that the coming home/leaving home function works, but this illuminates all lights inc dipped beam, and only works when it is dark.

I'm looking to switch on the DRLs only, every time the car is unlocked, i.e. using the DRLs as leaving home lights in daylight, but maintaining the normal leaving home function in the dark.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

I have recently replaced my good faithful Octavia mk1 with a Octavia mk2, however the turbo failed on me with an embarrassing about of smoke. The mechanic has replaced the turbo with a new turbo but I don't think he has replaced the turbo pipes. After he called me to say it was done, he then called me again to say he was running the car and the belt had snapped. He then rang me a couple of hours later to say he had replaced the belt.

I understood there was likely to be some oil to burn off so expected some smoke. However it didn't feel right either, it was and still is juddering, is still smoking and is down on power but not in limp mode and the MPG is really poor. When I unplugged the MAF sensor, it stopped smoking, juddering and the MPG shot up. I got a new MAF, plugged it in and the smoking, juddering etc came back. I also decided to treat myself to a genuine ross-tech HEX-CAN, (totally new to VCDS so I have been trying to learn quickly) I have pasted the Self-Diagnosis log below. I also noticed the Torsion value in group 4 was -2.5 which I believe is meant to be 0.

If anyone could give me any suggestions on what I should do to get my car healthy again, I would be very grateful. I was thinking of getting a smoke test but now thinking of testing the glow plugs next to see if they have failed as I thought it odd that three had come up with a fault at once.
