Fault Code 01314 Engine Controller Spurious Comms Intermitt
Hi, as per title line, car is a late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 SC. What happened was, after a 75 mile run with no problems, when nearly back home, I noticed an indicator light flashed once and some relay(s) gave a single chatter - nothing else happened. When back home I checked which indicator lived in that area of the revcounter and discovered it was the engine management fault indicator. Scanned the car with VCDS and found a single fault, ie 01314 004 and that fault only occurred once, cleared fault, checked seating of all fuses and relays and engine ECU connector - all okay.
I've checked on the internet and mainly any questions asked about this kind of get ignored or at least no definative answer(s) offer as to the real root cause of this.
So, any one else had this or heard about someone having this fault logged? Ta!

programming controller
Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a brand new A/C controller and was wondering how to programme it, is it a case of copy and paste off the old one?, or do I have to take it to the stealer?.
I have VDCS, can I do it with that?, if so how?
TIA

VCDS - values out of range
Hi,
2 questions for all you VCDS experts out there.
I plugged my new MY16 Octavia VRS into VCDS for the first time and started to try coding some of the possible adaptations.
the first 3 worked (changing the throttle mode to audi, showing blower speed on auto and switching off the sound generator) and I was able to follow the instructions fairly easily, however when I started to try and code other functions I was getting errors.
On trying to change the voltage for the Start/Stop system i followed the instructions:
Go to Module 19 (Can Gateway)
? Adaption
? Go to Kanaal: Start_stop_voltage_limit
? change to 12.1V ( standaard is 7.6V)
however when i came to apply the new voltage i get an error message saying the value is out of range.
I also had this on the first stage of enabling Traffic sign recognition.
The next issue is when it comes to enabling the intelligent light assist. I followed the instructions provided by Andyvee and there was a slight descriptive difference in channels, however the coding was accepted. When i came to activate light assist however (by pushing the stalk forward) I received a maxidot error "light assist error". Is this because I was stationary? I have now reverted all changes for the light assist to standard
EDIT: I forgot to sya I'm using version 15.7.4. should I try again with one fo the newer betas?
EDIT 2:
I've just found this from Andyvee:
- The latest beta of VCDS has a tick box for a soft controller reset when changing adaptation channels - this is a feature I asked Ross Tech to add for a reason, it is needed on MQB platform cars, so use it!
Just to confirm, should I be ticking the box at the same time as changing the channel?

Cluster login - Immo light?
Hi all,
Just wanted to check something.
I logged into my cluster earlier and it left the immo light on and a key that wasn't coded to the car was able to start it, whilst the immo light stayed on.
Is it normal behaviour for logging into the cluster with VCDS and the SKC to temporarily disable the immo? After leaving the ignition off for 5 mins, it was enabled again....
Misfire under load, can I have some advice please?
I have an 09 Facelift petrol VRs
Was driving home from work today and the car misfired all the way home particularly around 2000rpm and under load, eventually the CEL started flashing then the EPC light came on. The OBD only logged two faults even though it misfired all the way home, about 8 miles.
Diagnostic from VCDS is:

Check engine light on
Hello
I'm new to this forum so sorry if I'm not posting where I should.
Just recently, I've purchased a Skoda Octavia 2.0 (AQY engine code) and after driving it approx. 2.300 km the check engine light came on just the other days.
Now, I should point out the fact that the car still drives ok, but now it has a sort of rough idle (it may vary 20 to 30 rpm on the dash). It can be heard rather than seen and a higher fuel consumption (when idle, the instant fuel consumption shows 2,4 - 2,2 l/h instead of the regular 1,1 - 1,2 l/h)
Also, now around the car you can smell unburnt petrol.
Also I should point out the fact that when I fuelled with a high octane petrol, the light turned off after approx. 1km but came on again after 2-3 km.
Other than that, the car runs ok.
I used a tester to find the error codes and this is what I have found:
16518 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1
P0134 - 35-00 - No Activity
17536 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult)
P1128 - 35-10 - System too Lean - Intermitent
16555 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1
P0171 - 35-00 - System Too Lean
and
01039 - Coolant Temperature Sensor (G2)
30 - 10 Open or Short to Plus - Intermitent
Now the second one, I don't think it's relevant for the engine light but I thought I should post it anyway.
Can you please tell me if this is a clear indication that the lambda sensor should be replaced?
Can you re-code 2nd hand Highline Gateway or has it 'Component Protection'?
I am trying to create a guide for MFSW (Multi Functional Steering Wheel) on Octavia Mk3. You need suitable steering wheel and Gateway (J533 in VCDS) controllers. The correct Gateway controllers are 'Highline' versions.
EBay is full of Highline Gateway controllers. But can they be re-coded or are they just expensive lumps of plastic? Someone must be doing something with them. Do they have Component Protection?
Can I fit a Highline Golf controller in my Octavia?
Czech websites have (I think) new controllers for about 90 euros delivered, and as I understand new controllers are OK to use. Not sure what they cost from UK Skoda dealer?
I have lots of questions and not many answers regarding the Gateway's.
Thanks
Selective Locking on Octavia III (MQB)?
I've recently bought a 2015 Octavia Elegance Estate and have done most of the VCDS tweaks, but I can't find one for enabling selective locking (one press unlocks drivers door only, two presses needed to open all doors).
Any got any ideas how to enable this on an Octavia III (or any MQB platform car)?
Would also be nice to enable comfort opening/closing of the windows, any ideas on that appreciated too.
Octavia MkII 1Z5 ABS Purge with VCDS
What I want to know is, purely to do the ABS, can I use a £5 lead from eBay with my laptop?
I'm just looking for the cheapest way to activate the pump.
Please no guessing, I'd rather responses from someone who's actually tried it and can perhaps provide a link to a supplier.
Improve Throttle Response - Superb 125TDI 4x4 (3T)
I tried the solution mentioned at http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/380829-superb-mkiii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/#entry4611928 but sadly there were no selections available ...ie: No Audi, Skoda nothing....
After much searching I found a possible solution by way of adding a 'Throttle Response Controller' for AUD$299. My thinking is that if a box can apply some sort of electronic wizardry then maybe there is some coding that may address this issue???
My VCDS knowledge is very limited and I was hoping one of the Briskoda techno experts may be able help??
Can anyone help??
Gateway coding
Thanks
