Hi all
I'm looking to fit a milltek to my octavia 2 sport.
It's got a bkd engine and I'm looking cat back.
I'm struggling to find one, would it be the same as a vrs one as mine has the twin chrome tailpipes.
Would anyone have a video of one on a bkd so I can hear what one would sound like??
Thanks chris

Long story short
Retrofitted cruise control on to my roomster pain in the butt to do I add

Anyway it's due a service very soon and I am assuming there will be a software update

I don't have access to my vcds for a month or so as my brother has it in Germany and isn't back until may

My mate helped fit the kit and I can't remember if we programmed via vas or vcds

Will the cruise get wiped as its not original build or not ???

Hello I'll start with a little bit about me as im completely new to the Skoda forum, my name is Daniel and i have been messing around with old cars for a while now I currently own a 1975 Mini Clubman and I also now own a slightly newer 04 Skoda Fabia. I really just want some sound advise about my Skoda, So my question is I work for Cummins a massive diesel engine manufacture and some of the technicians at work offer really good Remaps, and the gains I could possibly get seem well worth the price I have been quoted, i trust the guys at work as they work with Diesels all the time and they have done remaps on most of the peoples cars at work. My problem is I'm not sure my brakes are up to even an MOT standard so im thinking i would upgrade them before i start thinking about remaps. Am i better off getting 2nd hand bigger Octavia brakes or something like this http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/675565/skoda/black-diamond-front-12-grooved-brake-discs/kbd875g12.html? Normally i would just go for the Octavia brakes but i don't really want have to change to the bigger alloys. Sorry if this has already been asked in the past. Any help would be massively appreciated.

Possible to activate 'off road' drive mode on non-Scout ?

I see the Scout (Octy 3) has an 'off road' mode on the driver configs.
Not that I plan to go off roading in my non-Scout Octy, but it might be useful if I get stuck in a muddy field etc.

It disables various stability systems and also has 'hill descent'.

I have lots of adaption maps to send andyvee. Controller 09 took ages!!

VCDS (and other related things) for the uninitiated

So after a little reading around I find myself coming to the conclusion that this VCDS stuff is about hooking up a computer to the in car computer and using it to gain additional and possible useful functionality that hasn't come as standard with the car.

I can't be the first person intrigued, but still a little bemused at the notion of this.  Is it possible that someone could pen a sticky for the forum that gives the low-down on what is possible, briefly generally how it is done, is it legal, supported by Skoda, will it invalidate any guarantees, how much does it normally cost, is it DIY, what kit do you need, what is the likelihood of it all backfiring and 'bricking the system', is it worthwhile for back-up purposes in any event, etc.?  I am a confident IT user and the idea of all this sort of stuff is def. interesting, but I'd like to know more about what it all involves and I can't find any sticky that introduces this as a process.

In any event even if a sticky doesn't result I would appreciated some more info. on-thread around the questions posed above if anyone has time to explain.  I am about to buy my first car with a full Skoda infotainment system and this forum introduces some interesting possibilities, but I'd like to know more about things.  Many thanks.

OIII Kessy terminal 15 - Locked while engine running?

Hello fellow Skoda owners.

I have gone through the complete vcds list here but I could not seem to find anything about terminal 15.

The point is to lock your car with the engine still running, however this naturally is for the people with kessy. Anyone done this?

Hi folks. As per title the company is doing discounts again on most products and a clearance section too. This a very good distributor of highly Professional additives, oil and others for car, bike etc.  I regularly use them and never let down all round. Do sign up first to receive a further discount on the specials already.

I hope this is the appropriate section as it's not a group buy.

Hi guys,

I will be picking my new Mk3 VRS hatch from the dealers in a few weeks time (hopefully) and was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me?

I would like to activate a few extras. My car is coming with Amundsen sat nav, lane assist, front assist and park assist (if this helps).

I live in Woolwich but have a variety of options to visit someone:

1. Returning from the dealers in Southamption.

2. When visiting the In-laws in Peterborough - gets me out the house for longer as well.

Superb II - LED DRL to be on permanent

Does anyone know where the LED DRLs can be coded to on permanently in the AUTO position on the light switch?

I went to a dealer last week for some servicing and they did mention they had to recode something.... and I might see some changes but they had not changed anything major. The service person was not too specific.

I did not notice the lights immediately but my DRLs are off in "off" and "Auto" whereas they used to be on in "Auto". They still come on with the Xenons automatically when it gets darker.

I could go back to the dealer but that might be more hassle.

What is the coding sequence on VCP to change them back to permanent?

Hi,
New Yeti owner and really pleased with the car but having problems with the alarm keep going off. I have read that it can be de- sensitised or even turned off using vcds. I'm thinking of buying a vcds setup if it's useful but want together this annoying issue sorted first!

Any help appreciated

Valeo SMF or Sach DMF for hybrid 2.0TDI

I'm booking my Jetta in this week to get a new clutch and flywheel, and i'm unsure of which option to go for. I know I'm not in a skoda yet (was looking to get a petrol vrs next, hence joining the forum), but this place seems like the best place for getting reliable information on tdi tuning.

My Jetta is a 2006 2.0 TDI (6 speed), originally 140bhp, so i guess the same as the Octavia, etc, but the turbo failed a few weeks after purchasing so went down the route of getting a hybrid turbo fitted, as i wanted to remap anyway, I felt this would hopefully give me a little more reliability with the turbo being a weak point on these. The turbo kit and mapping was sold as a 230bhp upgrade, but i asked to have that eased off a little because of the standard clutch (whether that was done or not i'm not sure). The car hasn't been tested for power, but i'd guess it's in the 200bhp range, comparing it to my old clio 182, Torque wise i'm not so sure.

Anyway, the clutch as lasted well and still isn't slipping. but i'm having problems with other element of the clutch system. Lot's of knocking at idle from the dmf, squeching when pulling off especially when cold, difficult to get into gear sometimes at standstill (so 1st and reverse gears), and recently the car has wanted to edge forward when stopped with the clutch fully down when i lift off the brake pedal (lifting off the clutch slightly to the biting point and putting back down again seems to sort it), and it's also a little jumpy sometimes when pulling off when cold.

I've tried to research the Valeo single mass flywheel conversion kit, it generally gets good reviews from people that have tried it, but they all seem to be on the 1.9 tdi engine rather than the 2.0 tdi. So was wondering if anyone else had experience with this kit and wanted to advise on whether they felt it was worth doing or sticking with the dmf?

I know there are a lot of issues with other branded smf conversions for various reasons, such as the flywheel being too light and low quality, etc

Though I've also been advised that the standard setup should be fine upto around 190-200bhp, which I'm happy to believe, as i think my dmf was on its way out anyway when i bought the car, it's now on 127k miles and a few of the other symptoms were present when i bought the car too. To be honest i didn't think the clutch would last this long after getting the hybrid turbo fitted. It's done around 23k miles now.

So I'm also wondering whether i should just stick to a standard branded dmf kit and risk the flywheel going again, potentially in a couple of years time.

I'm likely to keep the car for another couple of years now at least, before seriously thinking about a change, so don't want to be doing the clutch and flywheel again in the time i've got the car, so I need to make sure i'm picking the right option.

Sorry for the wall of text, any help would be appreciated though.

Strange fault with LED sidelights - 2016 Octy 3 vRS

I fitted LED sideliht bulbs to my vRS a couple of days ago, and on next driving the car, got a warning message on the dash regarding the front-left sidelight, exactly as I'd expected.

Earlier today I followed the coding as per the below thread:

I reverted the code back to the original (having kept a very thorough log of all my changes), where the second fault disappeared, but the car seems confused as to which bulb is causing it an issue.

Having tried a couple of permutations (LED bulb/filament bulb) and the opposite coding, the car definitely tells that the 'rear left side turn signal' is faulty whenever the front left LED bulb is fitted - regardless of the coding.

I've also confirmed that both fault codes disappear if I replace the front left with a filament bulb but keep with the LED in the front right - with both codings set as appropriate, of course.

Any ideas on what I can try in order to use LED sidelights?

Thanks!

High Beam Assist - question for MY16 Octy vRS - Coding Module 09

Hi,

I was enabling a fellow member's HBA on his MY16 Octy vRS. There was one thing that was slightly different from the instructions and it has thrown up a fault.

When recoding the module is says:

Change Byte 2 Bit 0-2 to a value of 03 using the dropdown menu for models with Xenons.

On this members car value 03 said something like this:

03 Lighting: Bi-Xenon Headlights with High Assist & Adaptive Cornering.

I think 02 was something like : 02 Lighting: Bi-Xenon Headlights with Light Assist

I should have grabbed a screen grab.

So should I have selected value 02 instead of 03?

Thanks.

Fabia Combi Mk3 assistance

After doing a quick search on briskoda and google, I couldn't find any beginner manuals or something similar. I have ordered my Fabia Combi, and will be receiving it in the coming months.

As I read online, it's possible to activate some functions like Cornering fog lights and others. I'm intrested in a list of features that I can enable through VCDS on my Fabia.

Also, I'd appreciate if someone could explain/send me a step-by-step guide explaining what I need to do, to enable these features. AFAIK, I need to buy a VCDS cable, what else do I need to buy and how much would it cost me?

Sorry if this has been asked before. Every response will be very much appreciated!

I am using Carista  OBD2 to check diagnostics on my new Superb and it keeps throwing up engine code fault 28993.

Does anybody have knowledge of what this fault is please?

I read somewhere it was possibly "software incompatibility in ride level control module" but I am none the wiser.
