Torsion values

I am aware that torsion values from the VCDS are in degrees.

+ve = camshaft advanced relative to crankshaft

-ve = camshaft retarded relative to crankshaft.

and that figure should be close to zero although aware that some folk aim for, or at least accept, slight variations in region of 1 degree

If you believe any of the above is wrong please say.

My question though is this: Does the VCDS torsion value figure represent degrees of rotation of the crankshaft or camshaft? obviously different as 1 degree of crankshaft rotation corresponds to 0.5 degrees of camshaft rotation.

Thanks
